Electronic battery powered pen-style TDS-meter with 0.0-14.0 pH measurement range and temperature compensation. Suitable for fast, easy and convenient water TDS measuring in aquarium, hydroponics and horticulture applications.
TDS = Total Dissoved Solids is the amount of all solids (salts, minerals and metals) that are dissolved in water. TDS value is mg/liter or parts per million (ppm). Clean water (distilled water , Reverse Osmosis purified water) has a TDS value very close to 0. TDS meter can be used to monitor the condition of RO filter and the level of nutrients in a hydroponics system water.
The meter is not waterproof so it should not be immersed completely in water. Measuring only requires the tip of the pen to be immersed so that about half of the metal pins are underwater after which water is stirred gently.The readig stabilizes after 30-45 secnds after which the value can be saved by pressing the hold-button.
Do not store the meter in high temperature or in direct sunlight. If the meter is stored for a long period, batteries should be removed.
