Cork bark is unique moisture resistant and light natural material which can be used in all kinds of terrariums and aquariums. Cork can be used as a hideout and shelter, climbing material, background or as a floating raft in aqua-terrariums.
Cork bark is an environmental friendly natural product which is harvested from cultivated Cork Oaks (Quercus suber) in Portugal and Spain. Cork bark is peeled from a live tree without harming the tree and the bark regenerates in 9-12 years. Virgin bark is the bark from the first harvest and has the rough natural texture.
Natural cork varies by thickness, shape and surface structure. Due to shipping and packing reasons, cork pieces are usually shortened to a length of 40-60cm from the original 100-150cm.
Cork is sold by weight, not by individual pieces. The ordered pieces mean the total weight of the cork, not the amount of separate pieces. For example, order of 4 pieces (4 kilos) might be consisted of 2 or 6 separate pieces depending on the weight (thickness) of available cork sheets.
Cork is sold by kilos (1 piece = 1kg --> 15 pieces = 15 kg)
