This is a 100% waterproof T8 fluorescent tube light unit which is suitable as a underwater decoration light in garden ponds and fountains. Submersed light is an interesting addition to a garden pond in evenings as a decorative element.
However, the most practical application of this device is an internal light in tall rainforest vivariums and terrariums. As the transparent shell holding the light tube is waterproof, this light unit is exceptionally suitable in heavily planted tall and narrow vivariums where the normal external top lighting is not appropriate to light plants at the lower levels of the terrarium. In order to provide sufficient lighting to the terrarium bottom, this light can be positioned inside the terrarium even if the conditions are very humid and / or the light unit is exposed to water spray and splashes.
For example, the light tube can be placed under a background ledge to light plants at the terrarium bottom and as it is completely waterproof, water can be continuously pumped down the background or the terrarium can have an integrated rainfall system. If there is an aquarium part at the bottom of a paludarium, this light if perfect to light up the aquarium plants as it can be partially or fully submersed in the aquarium water.
Light unit is supplied with a daylight tube.
NOTE! In order to avoid accidental leaking, the light tube compartment cap threads have been locked with screw locking glue. The tube is not intended to be opened until the light tube needs to be replaced.
