LED Aquarium Light Unit 136W Fresh Water
[202.4101]

This Aquarium LED light system is designed for planted fresh water aquariums. The wavelength combination has been optimized for aquariums housing live plants. And it can also be used to illuminate terrarium / vivarium plants and house plants in situations where red-blue horticulture lights are disturbing.

This light unit has 48 pieces of 3W LEDs, which are driven with reduced power in order to increase technical service life. The wavelength combination with approximately 60% white light does not seriously distort color balance.

Depending on the suspension height this light unit can illuminate approximately 60cm * 60cm area with very intense light.

Light unit is of a modular design, so parts (cooling fans, ballast units) can be replaced easily. The detachable power cables are the same type used in computers. The LEDs used in this light system are manufactured by the biggest LED manufacturers (Epistar, Bridgelux, Cree etc.).

The upper side of the light unit must not be covered in order to ensure sufficient air circulation and cooling. If the cooling fans break, they must be replaced. If the electric circuit overheats the diodes begin to age and loose their illumination power on an accelerated pace. The upper side of the light unit is not splash water proof.

Suspension wires are included.

Aquarium LED lights have several advantages over traditional aquarium lighting equipment.

LED lights have a very good efficiency value between electricity consumption and produced light power. LED lights produce equal amount of light, especially the most important wavelengths, with much less electricity that is needed with fluorescent tubes or metal halide lights. When high light power is needed, annual savings in electricity consumption often exceeds the purchase price of a LED light system within 1-2 years when compared with the power consumption of a equivalent metal halide illumination.

LED aquarium light is designed to produce only wavelengths that are needed by the plants or corals and which provide the best visual effect to the aquarium viewer. In practice, 99% of the produced light is exactly the desired wavelengths, unlike in other illumination types. Therefore, no electricity is used in production of light plants do not need for optimal growth. As only the desired wavelengths are produced, LED light is up to 85% more effective than wide spectrum lights, which means up to 85% reduction in electricity consumption.

Almost 100% of the light produced in LEDs is automatically directed downwards at the illuminated target. Separate reflectors are not needed like in other lighting systems.

As illumination LEDs themselves do not radiate heat (infrared radiation) downwards along visible light, aquarium LED light does not heat aquarium water, which can be a problem with other high power aquarium lights, especially metal halide lights. With LED lights no electricity is wasted in unnecessary heat creation.

LED lights do not need replacement tubes or bulbs, which increase the user cost of fluorescent, metal halide and high pressure sodium illumination. LEDs loose their illumination efficiency slowly, especially when used correctly (sufficient air circulation cooling within the light system frame is provided), so a LED light system can be used for several years ( up to 50 000 hours), depending on conditions.

LED lights do not contain mercury or other hazardous materials. When a led light system is disposed, most of the materials are recyclable. Along with the low energy consumption and long service life, LED lights are the most environmental friendly lighting systems available.
