Atman CF-series external aquarium canister filters are second generation filters that have improved features over the AT-series. These are well made aquarium filters with powerful motors, solid construction and reliable operation. Suitable for both fresh water and marine aquariums (ceramic impeller shaft).

Atman CF-filters are equipped with a starter pump and taps in both hoses. Filter material is placed in removable baskets compatible with all material types. Incoming water flow is directed to the bottom of the canister and forced to go through the filter baskets. The flow channel is secured with rubber gaskets.

The filter set is supplied with a selection of alternative spray bar parts for different applications.

NOTE! The filter material capacity given in the technical details is the actual amount of filter material that can be fitted in the baskets, not the nominal canister volume. It should be noted that the canister volume, which most manufacturers announce, is not the same as the true filter material capacity, which is usually only 50-70% of the nominal volume depending on the filter design. For example, CF-600 has a nominal canister volume of 4,8 liters, but the actual filter material volume is 2,8 liters.

External filter’s suitable flow power depends on the situation. The recommendable nominal flow power is usually 3-4 times the aquarium water volume per hour. It should be noted that if relatively strong water circulation is desired, it can be arranged more effectively with additional stream pumps or internal filters, not with the external filter itself. Therefore, external aquarium filters can usually be evaluated more conveniently by their filter material capacity, which is more important to the actual water purification than the flow power.
