Zeolite is microporous mineral that has an excellent absorbent capability. Zeolite can effectively remove ammonia and other nitrogenous compounds from water and it can be used to improve water quality in both aquariums and garden ponds. Zeolite absorbs impurities effectively when exposed to water flow, hence it is most effective when used like other aquarium water filtering materials in external canister filters, internal motor filters or in wet/dry filtration systems.

This is natural zeolite mineral which is suitable for both fresh water and marine aquariums. Zeolite can be also used as a substrate in aquariums, garden ponds and terrariums.

Unlike other aquarium filtering materials that can be cleaned, zeolite has to be replaced as it will permanently to loose its absorbent capability. Used zeolite can be used as a substrate in garden and as a soil additive for indoor house plants.
